My name is Yohannes Teshome. I serve as a coordinator in training within the Addis Ababa Meserete Kristos Church. I also teach the Bible in various schools. I have read Adiamseged’s book and have seen some things in it. I would like to highlight the good lessons I got from the book. Let me say a few words about reading and the youth in church. The days we are living in require reasonable doubt in relation to faith. This is not the time to believe everything we see and hear. As youth in this generation, we ought to listen to Bible teachings very carefully. The youth are exposed to hear lots of things through the media. Therefore, they should develop the habit of reading so that they can judge everything they hear by biblical standards. The Bible is meant not only to be read but also to be studied. We ought to live on not only what we hear from preachers or the small portion we read in the morning but we should also make time to study it deeply and receive understanding with the help of the Holy Spirit. To accomplish this, it is very essential that we get hold of study helps. There are not so many such books written in Amharic in our country. Our brother Adiamseged is bringing us wonderful gifts of books in Amharic. I was able to get hold of one the many books he wrote. I have read his book on the Gospel of John. Reading a lot of books and compiling one useful book takes a lot of skill. Our brother deserves a lot of support and encouragement. It is essential to support such people. And if we can it is good to build on their efforts and contribute better works. I encourage everyone to read this book by our brother and I believe we should appreciate our brother’s efforts and encourage him. It is very important to support such people and we can do it we should build on what they have done and contribute better works. I encourage everyone to read the books that our brother has written and take advantage of them. I believe our brother has done excellent works and also call upon him to keep up the good work. I have not read all the 21 chapters of the book but I have gone through the major parts of it. I have found the book helpful for church ministry and Bible study especially for those who want to study the Gospel of John. It provides background within the flow of every major theme in the gospel. It also provides exegesis on every part. The flow of the narrations is accompanied by explanation of historical backgrounds. The book also presents the stories in the gospel relating them with other books of the New Testament as well as the Old Testament. It teaches in a very simple way that anyone can use. It is suitable for personal study as well as for group study. It is so enriched with information that even Bible school students can use it as a good reference. It is a work well done. So the youth, whether they listen to teaching or preaching, they can use the book for further and deeper study at home. Therefore, I encourage the youth and people of all age groups to read it.
