I greet you all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the name of God. Our brother Adiamseged, and our sister Yodit, I would like to congratulate you. One of the gifts that God gives to the children of man and to the church is books. When books of this kind are written in our country and when those who live abroad write such books, it gives us great joy and pleasure. When we consider Christianity in Ethiopia, many books were written in the last many years. However, not many commentaries have been written by evangelical Christians in this country. We all know that we have shortage of resources when we want to study the bible in bible colleges or in groups and individually. Therefore the books which are being launched today are great gifts for us. So I would like to call upon you all to praise God. There is something I want to say briefly in connection with this. I am glad to see people worshiping, ministering, or working with their full potential. I have seen that our brother Adiam has utilized his full capacity in writing these books. I know that he is not a theological scholar. But I have seen that he has made use of all the grace and the understanding God has given him to write the books. When brother Temesgen came and showed me the books, I was first pleased to see him because he is a man of peaceful and calm spirit. I heard about the books from Temesgen, and after he left my office I was wondering how the author could have written books of such depth. I was very impressed because the books were not the result of casual word but of careful organization and diligent search. The writer has made references to words in the original languages of the bible, such as Greek and Hebrew and explained them very well. After going through the books, I concluded that they give in-depth knowledge in a simple way. Any lay person can pick of the books and read them easily. The books are full of deep biblical teachings, but there is nothing difficult or complicated about them. May God bless him abundantly. What I have seen about the books is that if the church works using her full potential, we can do lots of works. Our brother Sime has said the same thing. So if we work using our full potential, we can be of great help to the church. I have seen that the books are valuable tools for bible schools, and for bible study groups. Moreover, I believe that if an individual Christian buys these books and studies them on his own, it will be the same as if he has gone to a bible school. I have gone through the draft of Hebrews; I think it is not published yet. These books are very instructive. Our brother Sime has spoken about the themes of the books which are being launched today. And I was thinking about what book we give to new Christians. Those of you who have shared the gospel and led people to Christ, you have most likely given them the Gospel of John to read followed by Ephesians. I am so glad that the books being launched today are expositions on the Gospel of John and the letter to the Ephesians. I was also wondering what the Lord was up to when He willed, especially today on the day of Christ’s baptism, that books on Ephesians and John be launched. Could this mean that believers need to hear the gospel all over again? What is happening in the church shows that many Christians are becoming less earnest in their commitment. The new generation seems to be going to church just because the previous generation was going. We see taking place in our country what they westerners call normalization. When God brought these books as gifts to us, He is leading us back to the basic truths of His word and if we apply them in our life, we will be more fruitful. If you read the books, you will be greatly blessed. Thank you so much and to God be all the glory.
